H returned to preschool today, and D does not return to school until tomorrow. So, we had a wonderful "D & Mommy" day. We visited a huge convention center hotel near us that was offering an exhibition of ice sculptures devoted to "A Charlie Brown Christmas". It was wonderful to see -- even at 9 degrees! We are wearing not just our own winter gear but also the parkas provided by the exhibit center. Very, very chilly exhibition space!
Can you believe all these sculptures are carved from ice?!
The big finish ... the ice slide!

The exhibit also included a lovely nativity in ice.
D had a lot of fun roaming around the convention center space decked out in Christmas decorations. We visited on the last day of all their holiday festivities. It was perfect ... we were just two of only a handful of visitors. No crowds, little noise, no lines! Perfect.
Of course, D found every elevator in this huge convention center/hotel property. My legs were hurting when we finally returned to the car. D was thrilled, of course.
Happy New Year!
