Our Wyoming Retreat - Day in Cody

Our last day included some tourist activities in the city of Cody. We visited the historic Irma hotel where Buffalo Bill lived. The current dining room was the scene of shootouts during the pioneer days. (Or, so they want you to believe!)





A highlight to our day in Cody was the visit to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center:


Exhibits included a history of firearms, historic replicas of cabins and tent sites, native American regional history and a lot of art.



This is a replica of Frederic Remington's studio inspired by his time in Wyoming.



I was pleased to see a lot of 20th-century art inspired by the west. The sculpture on the left is by one of my favorite sculptors Deborah Butterfield. I love her horse sculptures usually created from found wood and/or metal.
