The Road to Page, AZ

We headed to Page, AZ today.   We are having a "recuperating day" including sleeping in, moving slow, stocking up on groceries, and doing laundry.

Of course, the drive included a few unscheduled stops and surprises!!

First, we drove past the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument.   I couldn't help myself, and we stopped so I could read the displays.  Early pioneer history here as early explorers and settlers attempted to find a way around or through it.

The long trail leads to an opening through it including cliff dwellers.  Too hot for that trail today!  Here is a picture from the display .  That would be cool to see if we only had more time.

This little outpost serves to give tourists tours of the cliff dwellings and Marble Canyon.

We crossed the Colorado river and Marble Canyon on the Navajo bridge.  It's beautiful!  The view to the canyon was well worth pulling over to walk on the bridge!  (Even Henry agreed.)
