We discovered the game Chicken Foot Dominos. The boys love it.
Prompted by an exhibit we saw in our dentist's office we decided to learn more about the processed sugar in our "sweet treats". Very scary stuff! Even the boys were amazed when we started spooning about teaspoons of sugar into baggies to represent the amount of sugars in our favorite sweet snacks.
H is holding up the amount of sugar in a bag of Skittles. 46 grams! We all decided to avoid Skittles in the future ... yuck!
Comparing a bag of M&M's and a smaller, fun size M&M bag:
D comparing our favorite condiments. Guacamole vs. Ketchup. Lots of sugar in ketchup! Although, you can't dip a french fry in guacamole.
Sorry, Daddy. Even your small coca cola has lots of sugar!
We've been getting ready for our big trip to the Pacific Northwest by learning about the Earth and volcanoes. D made a volcano at home:
H and I attended a workshop on minerals and the Earth. They had a volcano demonstration and then lots of minerals to touch and sort including obsidian.
We are so excited about our upcoming trip. We are meeting GJ & Annie who are traveling to the Northwest in their RV. D has been mapping their route from Texas to Washington state.
