First, to the cave tour and the underground walk to Ruby Falls. Ruby Falls is the tallest underground waterfall. The waterfall is 140' high and has carved out a huge cavern over millions of years. We were 1,120 feet underground! We were transported by an elevator for most of that depth. We had to walk about an hour to the waterfall cavern from the elevator. Crazy stuff!

Next, we visited Rock City on Lookout Mountain. What a precious property. In the 1920s, a couple landscaped their rocky property to create a path of caverns, bridges, and sweet garden gnomes to spot. Rock City includes a mountain top lookout where you can see 7 U.S. states on a clear day. We had a lovely but very hot lunch on the mountain top.

The last tourist attraction on Lookout Mountain is the Vintage Incline Railroad. The railway opened in 1895 and travels one mile down the mountain. We decided to stop at this vantage point to watch the railway instead of riding on it. The wait was over an hour in both directions for a three-hour roundtrip! We were ready to get on the road for our drive to Jackson, MS.

We drove to Jackson, MS and spent the last night of our trip in Jackson, MS.
We safely arrived home on day #13 of our trip! 2.800 miles and 9 states! We love summer road trips!
