We loved the small towns of Saluda and Chimney Rock, NC. Sweet artist communities with lots of fun surprises.
After our picnic lunch at Pearson Falls our Green River adventure started in Saluda. A historic town with the oldest grocery in North Carolina! (or so claimed to be) The historic (and only) downtown street was lined with shops selling work from local artists. I loved it. I would definitely return!
We next visited Green River Adventures and were outfitted for a kayak trip down the Green River. The boys loved it!
It was so much fun listening and watching the boys enjoy the river. H and Aunt S shared a kayak. I had my own kayak. D rode in his own kayak tethered to our guide. We met an angel on Earth - our guide Dave who showed D such a great time down the river! Dave took our pictures with D's "help" as they headed down the river ahead of us.
Any good river adventure ends with putt putt, right? H had spotted this place the previous day and even asked "when is putt putt?" as we traveled down the river. One-track, little-boy mind. :)
Mommy and Aunt S treated themselves to an awesome dinner that evening! If the boys had putt putt, we were having wine and good food!
The perfect day ends with a good sleep. The doodles in perfect form. :)
