On the Road Again ... First Day!

Our first stop was visiting Hope, Arkansas.  A good stopping point for leg stretching!  We visited the boyhood home of President Clinton.  It is a National Park site!  We can't miss a National Park site!  A nice, young park employee gave us a tour of the home.   We also lunched at a locally-owned diner in Hope.

We arrived in Memphis in the late afternoon.   We drove all around "waving" at the historic stops.  I wanted to show D the historic Beale Street because of the music, and then we ran into Sun Recording Studio just before they closed.

H looked at the jukebox and said, "What is that?"

I quickly realized my boys had no idea why we were in this place!

D loved to pretend he was belting out the songs!

H was hot and thought this stop was really "stupid".

We also drove past Graceland. The boys know the music of Elvis Presley, but they really were not interested.

21st-century children!

Their favorite part of Memphis?  The hotel outdoor pool!   Lots of fun there!

Day # 1 done!  Onward across Tennessee!
